From November 17th to December 7th, Imeeji will be hosting its very first Fourth Wall event!

You can find the details here!

Interested? Great! In that case, please submit the following information to this post and request access to the comm:

Player Name & Discord: Please note that being available on Discord is required to be able to play in this game. You will not be accepted into the comm without first being in the server.
Player Squicks: Please note your squicks - things you cannot play with or otherwise content that you don't want to engage with - this will be compiled in a spreadsheet for all players to be able to look at. You will not be accepted into the comm if this is not filled out. If you have no squicks you can list N/A.
Character Name & Idol Name:
Character Canon & Username:
Desired Unit: YOU-kai, 10IV, Dance Macabre, or sea.Di
Starter Abilities: You may choose up to 3 starter abilities to play with! The rest may be purchased through points at the shop; if you need a place to keep track of your points, you are free to use this communal spreadsheet.

And here's the c&p:

Understand that when playing in this event you will be expected to follow Imeeji's rules. Failure to follow the rules will result in being removed from play immediately.

All comments are screened.
Please submit your apartment upgrades here. Dorm upgrades are 2000 points each, and the cost may be divided between unit members. The following rules and guidelines apply to upgrades:
  • Up to three (though preferably just two) requests per person may be submitted at any given time. Please list your upgrades in order of priority, since if there are more than 15 upgrades within a dorm upgrade period there is a very high chance only your most prioritized one will be done in that wave!

  • Upgrade requests will be written up and sent out on a (mostly) biweekly schedule! Mostly because very occasionally they might happen weekly, and (HOPEFULLY) more rarely, if there is other game work to prioritize or real life happens, they may take longer - in this case we will try to get at least five requests sent out per week until things have settled.

  • Any player may draft a proposal for any dorm upgrades they have submitted themselves, but these will be subject to possibly very heavy editing! There are lots of edge cases and internal plot-related rules that limit what is actually possible, and in general we want to keep writing style as well as aesthetic more or less consistent. Alternatively we might just think a thing is really cool to add. In the case a self-written proposal is edited, we will comment to your request with the edit when other write-ups are sent out and from there you can then make further requests, the same as how it works with write-ups we do ourselves. If no edit is needed, we'll simply reply to your write-up with a note of approval like with all other points shop purchases.

  • Upgrade requests do not necessarily require a specific theme, but must not be worth several upgrades together, i.e. if you just want an empty room with a fridge and a sink that's fine, but if you want a bar and a bathroom and a study all at once, that is not. If you can theoretically split the upgrade into several different upgrades, then each component must be individually submitted.

  • To clarify the above point further, any separate room must be purchased as a separate upgrade - a general room upgrade cannot also add an entirely separate bathroom, though something like a half bathroom with no separation from the main room or a nook with a sink or toilet is acceptable.

  • Upgrades cannot include any appliance or item that produces food or drink with the exception of junk foods (chip racks, soda fountains, etc.) and cold foods that must be put together - Lunchables® are in fact a legitimate kitchen appliance!

  • While you may request specific details of the room, the unit's aesthetic may not be heavily compromised.

  • Upgrades cannot provide a way for characters to enter the dorm that isn't public balcony or that floor's elevator lobby - no secret entrances from somewhere else to a private room or any other alternate entryways. In addition, while alternative exits from a dorm are allowed, they may only be one-way and must lead to some part of the hotel that has a pre-existing corresponding one-way pathway usable as an exit, such as the laundry room's laundry chute. In general, a handy guideline is that no upgrade cannot allow characters to bypass the main room of the unit's dorm, or create a new entrance or exit in the hotel proper.

  • We reserve the right to reject any upgrade that does not follow the above set of rules.

  • As a note, price may be reduced or increased depending on the request! We will contact you to let you know if this happens, with reductions being much more common than increases (except in the case of something being split into two separate upgrades).

  • Please make sure to check to see if your unit's dorm already has locks, soundproofing, and increased size for all bedrooms! These will almost always be applied to all bedrooms when requested, and therefore most dorms should already have them. These also apply to all additional rooms within a bedroom.

  • Please also make sure that you check the Dorms Page and look at the player changes for any rooms you're making changes to or upgrading! This is just to prevent any toe-stepping.

  • Any dorm upgrade questions (including questions about upgrades already implemented), should be directed to Mora on Discord (Mora#9683), or to the mod email!

Please use the following form:

Upgraded unit: [unit name]
Paid by: [link spreadsheet]
Details:

As a note, if you've received your dorm upgrade and you're cool with what it looks like, you can go ahead and assume that it's now in play. Even if the dorms page hasn't been updated yet, it is street legal to play with your upgrades!
As of Day 68, specific people from the units sensitIV, Taisho Roman Revolution, pep!pep!, WILD CITY, Heart Soldier Senshi, and BAD END=DEAD END are able to edit one thing on their profile. This is a permanent edit, and will be reflected in reality as well. Since this is a pretty finicky permission, we have a place here for you to submit the Big Changes!

Names, heights, hair colors, etc are all fine - but things like unit change must have the following condition fulfilled: every member of the unit must OOCly approve of the unit change, and there must be a slot on the unit available. Please note: your old unit powers are revoked upon moving units. Instead, they will have their points refunded and all clothes they bought from their old unit will be replaced with their new unit's style.

Other things, like "can eat fire" or "can turn into a wolf" must be submitted here for approval or rejection. Please use the following form:

Character:
Proof of Privilege: Link participation to the game if it happened in a game!
Pre-change Profile Trait: As it says, what part of the profile you're changing.
Post-change Profile Trait: What you're changing it to.
Details: Please note approvals from unit members here (links to conversations, screenshots, or otherwise having them all comment to your request are all good). Otherwise, whatever information you feel like putting here about the profile change.

Arrival

Nov. 9th, 2018 05:05 pm
Characters will wake up in bed with their smartphone at their bedside. The closet door is locked, so if they want to change out of their nightclothes, no dice. If they try to remember why they locked they closet door, also no dice, since they remember absolutely nothing from before waking up.

Fortunately, their smartphone has helpful information! Characters can find their and others' profiles*, rundowns of every unit, a map and city information, as well as their job description: while their every waking moment is being filmed and broadcast to a live audience, they'll get to conduct lives, perform in videos, and participate in game shows where they'll compete against other units! Congratulations on becoming an idol!
*All idols are given a profile upon arrival to Imeeji. At minimum, it features the idol's name, picture, unit, and blurb, which are unchangeable. There is also a field for characters to input their position/personal color within the unit upon arrival; this cannot be changed once set. Pictures and unit information will always be accurate, but idol name and bio blurb and trivia can be whatever a player wishes to give them; players may want to think about giving their characters information that will complement the planned character arc, but that is completely optional. Customizing it is also completely optional; if one chooses they may have the profile completely blank besides the unit information and picture, or they can have generic information such as the idol's zodiac sign and liked/disliked foods.
Other applications provided on the phone app may be found here.

The television in the main room is waiting for your character's input; the current display is a list of the "names" of everyone in the unit with a flashing empty box next to the last name—your character's "name"—much like the ones on the profiles, waiting for the newbie to select a personal color, or in other words their position within the unit. Until the position has been selected, none may enter or leave the unit dorm.
If you are on WILD CITY, your character will see see a second box with a default animal filled for their theme—some newbies are given the option to change this default animal. If they do change it, there is a catalog of animals with names and pictures as well as small blurbs (think zoo facts) for every animal. Sometimes, however, the option just isn't available, for players who want to assign an animal that their character would not choose. The animal selected will affect your character's powers for the duration of their run in WILD CITY, so please consider this carefully.

Upon choosing an animal, your character will receive a free aesthetic animal change. For example, if they choose a cat, then they may suddenly appearify cat ears or a cat tail. This animal change is purely cosmetic, and does not affect the character's abilities whatsoever.

Once the new character has chosen, the closet doors will unlock, and the dorm will also unlock for all characters to leave.

In the closet are three starting outfits with the unit color, the character's position color, and optionally, white—the universal neutral color. There are also unlimited underwear and socks in whatever the player wants to play with, for the sake of ease. Nightclothes may be whatever players desire to put their characters in—however, characters may only have one outfit of nightclothes. If these nightclothes are destroyed, another one will populate in the closet.

Upon being placed in the weekly announcements, you may begin play immediately, and that the hallway stretched out to include the new character's room.

Fanmail

Jul. 22nd, 2018 10:50 pm
Characters in Imeeji Idol Productions are, well, idols! And idols have a special relationship with their fans ♥

Imagine this to be the audience participation part: anyone can send fanmail, whether currently in the game or not, and characters currently in game will be able to see. Send them as yourself, or send them as fictional fans (or fictional haters)—whatever you want to do! Just make sure you follow the guidelines:
  • No announcing the contents of private conversations in Imeeji to uninvolved parties (unless the players involved are all in agreement).

  • In general, do not use fanmail to powerplay/godmode, e.g. sending an informative letter so a character can have all of the information without interacting with another character, especially without consent from all involved parties.

  • Comments on canon must be avoided unless the memory has been broadcasted.

  • In general, no fourth wall breaking. "You're actually fictional, did you know?" and such letters of that nature are not allowed.

  • Nothing referencing anything that took place within unit dorms.

  • Art is allowed, fic is allowed, even just a letter is allowed.

  • Any food sent will be confiscated and replaced with a photo of the food.

  • While handmade merchandise is fine, fanmail cannot have useful items or personal items; plushes are alright, but clothes would be considered useful, here. Creepy and disgusting things are fine, regardless of how creepy/disgusting they are they cannot be useful.

  • Merchandise sent must be Imeeji or character-themed. You can send character keychains, but not keychains of the Bahamas.

  • All fanmail is anonymous. Fanmail may be signed by ex-idols, but unless the idol has established one themself, there are no indicators that guarantee an idol's identity.

  • Fanmail should not reference plot drops, or assume anything of the audience's true nature. While it's fine to send ridiculous fanmail, as well as fanmail with a continuity, you cannot send any fanmail that assumes the audience is dead, part of the damned, or anything beyond "a regular modern day fandom."

  • If you reference broadcasted memories, events, etc, to characters other than those directly involved, please note that you have permission from the affected players in your comment. If said permissions are not present, we will not post the fanmail.

  • Please mark NSFW fanmail as NSFW in the header.
Fanmail will be posted on the first Sunday of every month. Fanmail closes at 10PM PST the night before that.
