"Materials to be used in a live" are free, but is there a limit on that? Like, I presume if my live is jello wrestling I can get a jello ring, but if my live is food fight do I have to buy the food separate or just the things that aren't traditionally smushable like cream pies or tomatoes? If I wanna do a cage match or ~~american~~ avante gladiators, do I get a danger combat maze, etc...?

To clarify, materials to be used in a Live should be materials that are absolutely required for the unit to perform the live - paper and brush and ink for Taisho Roman Revolution, for example. As avante en garde does not require food in order to technically perform a duel, food would require to be bought in order for food fight, although a food fight would qualify as a Live duel.

As the location is Tokyo, or specifically the special 23 wards of Tokyo, the entire area of Faukyo is 239 square miles, so it depends on how fast you're going. As for what happens at the border, it's like Mario 64's unending staircase that happens if you don't have enough stars to get to the final boss - the streets will go on and on forever and when you turn around there's the last intersection you left, still waiting.

what is the range on where the second cut lands for the In Solidarity power? is it just, like, a parallel slash a few inches away, or can I do like, hit someone's leg and then the second cut hits their other leg at the same time? or their face? and I assume the slashes are equal in size regardless of where they hit right

Injuries made with Solidarity will be equal in size and depth regardless of where they hit, but they can be anywhere that is capable of being visualized - replicating the injury to directly behind the character would not work, because characters can't actually be sure of what is behind them (unless they're standing in front of a mirror in which case it would work), but they can theoretically cut the back of someone's knees because that's something that can be visualized.

Since all the tech in the hospital is functional, can it be assumed that someone with enough tech know-how (or at least tech ambition/curiosity) can take apart the machines and try to build stuff with them? Would there probably be computers and stuff at the reception desk?

Also, is there a working laundry room hidden away in the hospital for washing patient linens and stuff?

If the technology is dissected, it will look strange and foreign and like it shouldn't work - it's not wired for AC or DC current, and the outlets are clearly not American or European standard. Moreover, only future is now characters can actually functionally build anything with this technology - otherwise, trying to take things apart to put them together again will just break the technology and render the parts defunct. There can be computers if you like, but none of the computers will work either without a character from future is now operating it. The computers won't even turn on for anyone that's not on future is now.

There are no laundromats.

I know characters can't have transformation shit with berserking/forms/multiple personalities but what if at a certain point in canon their look just CHANGES straight up like hair and eye color, but also, that point in canon hasn't been localized yet and you can't get resources for icons but you really wanna roll with that look eventually?

For full disclosure, it's because he had a major berserk out (and those change his look cuz idk demon shit no one actually knows), and now in canon he's just stuck Looking This Way Always.

This sort of physical change can be manufactured with a canon update!

FOR FUTURE REFERENCE how would one play canon updates with significant physical changes? Eg updating someone to a later canon point where they're n early 2 decades older. Would that be a full drop and reapp situation or something like a hiatus for the time skip?

Characters can be assumed to already have gone through their canon and are up to date in terms of memories, so if you would like to have a character regain memories from later in canon you can absolutely just do so! If you would like a cosmetic canon update, characters can either willingly go through cosmetic surgery to look up to date (500 points in the shop) or characters can be non-conned into cosmetic surgery by way of a strange little option that shows up in their point shop menu one day that's just called "Undo" (25 points).

Uhhh I wanted to ask about the phone app I think I don't know what no party threads means, etc. Is it only a P2P phone? Can you do network posts?

Texting/SMS can only be P2P, however as of the first collective points upgrade there is now a Discord-like chatroom app that can be used for network posts - more information on the chatroom app has been updated on the info page.

So, the character I'm thinking of apping is A Vampire™! A couple of quick questions:

1. In her canon, vampires usually look completely human. But! When hungry/feeding/angry/fighting/showing off, their canines extend into fangs. This can be either conscious or unconscious. Could this be something that carries over or is it too close to transformation?

2. Again, her eyes usually look human. But! When hungry or feeding etc, they take on an ethereal silvery glow.They also function like a nocturnal predator's, giving her vastly better eyesight in general, the ability to see in the dark, and eyeshine. Would any of this carry over?

3. I imagine she won't need blood anymore? I know she won't have her superhuman strength or speed, or her healing factor. I'm also guessing that supernaturally good hearing wouldn't carry over either.

She will not carry over any transformative or significantly advantageous qualities. She can have fangs that do not retract, or she can have flat teeth according to your discretion. Similarly, while her eyes will not glow and she will not have nocturnal vision, they could still have reflective eyeshine. Her senses cannot be superhuman, but can be left at above average by human standards (or they can be average or below average, whichever you would prefer to play).

As for the blood, you can play her as eating normal human food now, or you could play her as retaining the same nutritional needs as a vampire. Because the free rations provided in the kitchen are individually nutritionally balanced, if you decide you would rather play her as still drinking blood, her share of rations will still be edible to her! But like everyone else's, they will be totally unsatisfying to eat. Think like the blood pills from Vampire Knight, possibly. More appetizing blood would be available in the point shop and also in the bodies of most other people in the game.

Okay if you wanted to purchase a costume or uniform that wasn't strictly part of your unit's aesthetic can you wear it around or do you get beaten down by the idol enforcers. For example, can you wear motorcycle leathers to help with road rash when you crash your motorcycle, or get tennis shoes for a morning jog, or can Gold add a "sexy minion" outfit to his wardrobe because it is team colors (and if not, would adding a cape or epaulets (team accessory) make it okay)

You cannot purchase a costume or uniform that isn't strictly part of your unit's aesthetic - if you would like to change the aesthetic then you will need to either tailor the outfit yourself or find a member of a unit with that aesthetic to trade outfits with. Gold may not add a "sexy minion" outfit to his wardrobe by buying from the shop, but he can barter with a member of WILD CITY in order to get those shitty overalls. The shirt will even come in cream.

Actually make it THREE separate and unrelated questions! (I'm sorry, mods, thank you so much for always patiently answering questions.)

1. If your team is sleeping outside the dorms/hotel at night (that is, in the empty buildings or in the park), are there any consequences to or dangers regarding that (aside from any possibly hostile teams)?

2. If your character is a reincarnation, are the memories of their previous incarnation up-for-grabs with memories, or is it current-life-only?

3. Currently Yona/Hiryuu is headed an in-game experiment to see whether or not video cameras can catch anything interesting on film, especially while the units are inside the Game Tower. Specifically, they're looking for photographic evidence of the changes the world undergoes while they're gone and how it's done. OBVIOUSLY I am not asking "would this work" but I'm hoping within the next couple of IC days to get this really going. If that works out, would it be possible for me to get some kind of mod feedback for what the cameras might pick up or if something happens to them/they disappear?

There are no dangers to sleeping outside except for perhaps catching a cold or feeling sore in the morning. Previous incarnation memories are available to obtain if you would like!

spiteforthecamera with the link if you want an actual IC response, but for the purposes of expediting the process, this is what you can expect: the cameras themselves won't disappear, but the video feeds will glitch out briefly, only for a sticky note with a red ♥ to appear on the feed, though the video cameras themselves will not be damaged.

What kind of activities qualify as a "duel" for avante en garde? Some specific possibilities we've kicked around the chan:

1) Do ranged attacks count? Would paintball or dodgeball count as a duel?

2) Do physical contests that don't involve actually hitting another person count? Like volleyball, to use a totally random example unrelated to any current team members.

Overall, we're just trying to think beyond "beat people up" for Live ideas, so understanding the boundaries of the "duel" concept are is what I'm after. /o/

Both ranged attacks and physical contests that do not necessarily hurt another person count! As such, sports like volleyball and paintball et al would be fine.

And another, totally unrelated question: in the event of death, would Ace get to keep his special death animation?

In his canon, when people die their bodies dissolve into black smoke, leaving behind their heart, which is a pocket watch. In the past, I've played Ace's body vanishing in this way and upon resurrection the smoke reforms his body around the watch at whatever level of injured is required. Would something like that be okay in Imeeji? :?

As the death animation would be a supernatural power from outside Faukyo, that would not be allowed.

Okay do characters have bodily functions. Do you poop? Do you have periods? Does your hair/nails/body grow? Just wanna know what level of body horror to prepare for...

Characters have all mundane bodily functions.

Just as a double check, outside of the buildings listed in the setting, do any of the other buildings have any interesting features/characteristics? Or are they just big empty skyscraper, abandoned building types with nothing useful inside them.

The Game Tower will read as a black box - that is to say, it cannot be read at all. Aside from that, every other building will be big empty skyscraper, abandoned and with nothing useful.

If a character comes from Tokyo, what landmarks would they be able to recognize from memories?

I assume canon-specific things like Shujin Academy or Cafe Leblanc probably aren't there (especially with Yongenjaga not being a real place), but would Akechi be able to find, say, the police office he worked at? A facsimile of a bakery he visited one time? The apartment building he lived in?

He should be able to find most things that are in real Tokyo, but they are all empty. The police office will be there, but empty, the bakery will be there, but a shell. The architecture is still the same, but there's no sign of any of the things that should be inside. That said, there are a few differences… The Sony Building has been destroyed and replaced with a new one, and the New National Stadium is already complete. It looks like… this version of Tokyo is circa 2020?

What happens if someone buys multiple projected memories simultaneously? Do they overlap, queue, or all play on different screens, or picture-in-picture...?

The memories will queue, which means you'll have to sit through potentially hours and hours of memories and cannot stop them from autoplaying. Have fun!

Firearms aren't up for purchase, but what about long range weapons like bows and arrows, crossbows, etc? Barring being able to buy them, could they get materials to make one?

Currently, bows and arrows as well as crossbows are also barred from purchase while the unit pep!pep! Is not in game. However, you may purchase materials that can be used to make such weapons, i.e. blocks of wood to carve out bows, cords for bowstring, sheets of rubber to cut into fletching etc. Most such raw materials are priced at 150, like tools.

if a NSFW memory is broadcast, is it censored?

Please make sure to have all NSFW memories linked off the comm. ICly, the public broadcast will be censored with a mosaic, although the memory as the character re-experiences it will not be altered.

Questions about avante's Living Forge power!

1) Any limitations on number of blades or style?

2) What does generating a blade look like?

3) Would bladed things that are not technically weapons but could be used as such be summonable? Ex: straight razor, chef's knife

4) Would non-lethal versions of bladed weapons be summonable? Like training sword such as a bokken.

1) There are no limits to number of blades or styles, so long as the weapon is still ostensibly a blade and not more (i.e. no gunblades). You can summon as heavy or big a blade as you want, but it will take as much strength to use as it reasonably should for whatever size and make it is.

2) The way of generating a blade is up to user's choice; Gate of Babylon or Utena or whatever is all fine.

3&4) Blades that are not weapons may be summoned, and non-lethal versions may be summoned as well. A bokken is fine, but a shinai has no real blade, and so does not count.

So, the point app! Is there any setting/subsetting that allows the teams to collect/pool points for later use? Or would that be a separate app? We're trying to figure out how best to save / work out point savings for dorm upgrades.

EDIT: ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT QUESTION FOR AN ONGOING THREAD: What happens if an individual tries to touch/take someone's heart weapon? Does it make a difference depending on how the owner of said Heart Weapon views said person? (ex: a friend or loved one vs a foe)?

As for the Heart Weapon, it depends entirely on what the owner thinks of the person. If it's someone they wouldn't trust with it, they will find the weapon useless in their hands, etc. If it's someone they'd let do whatever they wanted with them, it works fine. If they don't want that person touching their heart, they'll have trouble getting a grip, etc. Whatever you want, it's your heart, your metaphor.

I have a lot of questions regarding "Heroes Never Die." I know it's a lot, but I just want to make sure I'm super clear here.

1. Regarding the vessel: can this be any object (like a knife, or a book) or does it need to be a literal container?

2. I'm hoping it's safe to assume that when "heart" is used here, it's not meant to mean the literal organ, but rather the metaphysical ideal of a heart (so the soul/life force etc), is that correct?

3. How exactly would the heart be removed; do they reach inside themselves or do they press their belt and it simply comes out? Is it up to our discretion what the heart itself should look like?

4. Are there any notable physiological changes that occur from doing so? That is, can other characters feel heart beats, are they still warm? Presumably nothing about them physically changes and they do not become grossly thin like Koschei the Deathless, but I feel like this is worth checking on.

5. If a character's heart vessel is broken with their heart inside it, then they'll die, but what if it should come into the possession of another character? Is there any loss of free will that should be noted?

6. Can the character return their heart to themselves/deactivate the power after use, or is this a permanent feature?

7. The description states that "No matter how damaged you are, if you heart is in another vessel, you're fine." Does this mean that damage (usually) heals instantly, or does it mean that characters don't bleed and/or feel pain? In the case of limbloss, do they immediately reattach? Assuming that a game calls for a horrible death, would this just mean suffering through the maiming/death and then healing on their own? OR DOES IT ACTUALLY MEAN NONE OF THIS, and characters actually remain conscious/sentient no matter how terrible the injury, like, even if they're beheaded or liquefied, and there is no healing they're just. stuck. like that......

2) That is correct.

3) This is all up to player discretion.

4) Cosmetic changes are up to player discretion. As abilities are meant to be advantages, nothing actively harmful can happen - however, if you would like to have things like no heartbeat or cooler body temperature as flavor, you are welcome to do so.

5) As stated above, abilities are meant to be advantages; therefore, there is no demerit. Feel free to entrust your heart with other people!

6) Provided the body has not received any damage, the heart can be returned with no repercussions. However, if the body has received damage, then the character may die depending on how severe the damage is, and how long it has been untreated for (i.e. a severed hand isn't necessarily lethal, but if the hand has been severed for longer than a minute, the character is very likely to die from blood loss).

7) Characters would be able to endure any level of maiming and death but would not heal from it any faster. Regardless of how much damage the body takes, it will not kill the character, and you will still be functional. For example, drowning is basically meaningless. But body parts that are torn off still have feeling and can still move, they are just . . . not attached, and will need to be reattached by a member of sensitIV. Or you could just duct tape it back on or something. I mean since it's still functional even if it's not properly reattached, it's basically the same thing.

any limitations on Double Take, like timegating (esp when used against people)? can Echo be used to impersonate people's voices using your own words, or only to repeat things they have already said?

There is no limitation for Double Take on objects. The limitation on Double Take being used on people is ymmv, basically as long as both players agree to it then it's fine. If there is no agreement, it can be generally considered to be timegated to 1 hour. On that note, while Double Take may trap someone to repeating one action, i.e. opening a door, the victim may use other bodyparts unrelated to the repeated motion, i.e. kicking at the walls or holding a conversation. Echo can be used to repeat things that have already been said, though one may stitch together words out of context like some sort of verbal ransom letter, though sentences can only be broken down to a word level and not to a syllable letter, i.e. you can't stitch together "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" via a composition of "super" "california" "fragile" et al.

Does Living Forge come with the ability to dematerialize blades? Or is it generating blades only?

You may dematerialize a blade that you created yourself, but you may not dematerialize a blade that was created by another person.
