Dorm Upgrade Submissions

Please submit your apartment upgrades here. Dorm upgrades are 2000 points each, and the cost may be divided between unit members. The following rules and guidelines apply to upgrades:

• Up to three (though preferably just two) requests per person may be submitted at any given time. Please list your upgrades in order of priority, since if there are more than 15 upgrades within a dorm upgrade period there is a very high chance only your most prioritized one will be done in that wave!



• Upgrade requests will be written up and sent out on a (mostly) biweekly schedule! Mostly because very occasionally they might happen weekly, and (HOPEFULLY) more rarely, if there is other game work to prioritize or real life happens, they may take longer - in this case we will try to get at least five requests sent out per week until things have settled.



• Any player may draft a proposal for any dorm upgrades they have submitted themselves, but these will be subject to possibly very heavy editing! There are lots of edge cases and internal plot-related rules that limit what is actually possible, and in general we want to keep writing style as well as aesthetic more or less consistent. Alternatively we might just think a thing is really cool to add. In the case a self-written proposal is edited, we will comment to your request with the edit when other write-ups are sent out and from there you can then make further requests, the same as how it works with write-ups we do ourselves. If no edit is needed, we'll simply reply to your write-up with a note of approval like with all other points shop purchases.



• Upgrade requests do not necessarily require a specific theme, but must not be worth several upgrades together, i.e. if you just want an empty room with a fridge and a sink that's fine, but if you want a bar and a bathroom and a study all at once, that is not. If you can theoretically split the upgrade into several different upgrades, then each component must be individually submitted.



• To clarify the above point further, any separate room must be purchased as a separate upgrade - a general room upgrade cannot also add an entirely separate bathroom, though something like a half bathroom with no separation from the main room or a nook with a sink or toilet is acceptable.



• Upgrades cannot include any appliance or item that produces food or drink with the exception of junk foods (chip racks, soda fountains, etc.) and cold foods that must be put together - Lunchables® are in fact a legitimate kitchen appliance!



• While you may request specific details of the room, the unit's aesthetic may not be heavily compromised.



• Upgrades cannot provide a way for characters to enter the dorm that isn't public balcony or that floor's elevator lobby - no secret entrances from somewhere else to a private room or any other alternate entryways. In addition, while alternative exits from a dorm are allowed, they may only be one-way and must lead to some part of the hotel that has a pre-existing corresponding one-way pathway usable as an exit, such as the laundry room's laundry chute. In general, a handy guideline is that no upgrade cannot allow characters to bypass the main room of the unit's dorm, or create a new entrance or exit in the hotel proper.



• We reserve the right to reject any upgrade that does not follow the above set of rules.



• As a note, price may be reduced or increased depending on the request! We will contact you to let you know if this happens, with reductions being much more common than increases (except in the case of something being split into two separate upgrades).



• Please make sure to check to see if your unit's dorm already has locks, soundproofing, and increased size for all bedrooms! These will almost always be applied to all bedrooms when requested, and therefore most dorms should already have them. These also apply to all additional rooms within a bedroom.



• Please also make sure that you check the Dorms Page and look at the player changes for any rooms you're making changes to or upgrading! This is just to prevent any toe-stepping.



• Any dorm upgrade questions (including questions about upgrades already implemented), should be directed to Mora on Discord (Mora#9683), or to the mod email!

Sorry for the wait! How does it look?

Bad End’s bathroom contains a door which leads to a wide open-air onsen: the area looking like it may have once been a popular resort, but it has since been shuttered and now commandeered for use unofficially. A spray-painted mural decorates the side of the building going in, mountain scenery painted there to make up for the lack of such scenery seen through the impassable bamboo thicket that surrounds the spring. The three pools of steaming water are arranged in a triangle formation, with several nice but mismatched lounge chairs scattered about at the edges. A small enclosed alcove has been made with old wood, sanded down nicely from enough different sources to hint that that it's been put together from reclaimed material-- this area functions as a sweat room. A rack of metal pipes are stuck to a wall near the entrance to the area provides towels, clean and softly faded. The wall itself extends out to provide a secluded changing area.

In Joker’s closet is an attic accessible via a drop-down ladder. It is sound proofed, and has an electronic lock that can be keyed to accept unlock requests from specific phones. The interior has the feel of a converted-for-living factory landing and is quite large. There are long floor-to-ceiling windows which face outwards, to the view of Tokyo-F. An industrial, wall mounted fan provides cooling.

A large bed with more than enough room for three people occupies the non-windowed wall of the attic, with shelves located just to the side of it. A white board sits between one set of windows, along with a weathered looking leather couch and some stools. A thermostat next to the board allows for heating and cooling the room as desired.

For some reason, when not in use, the white board is always just covered with changing recipes for various illicit and often explosive substances?

Essentially, a room that is a second bedroom. He should be able to switch between the two rooms via phone. It's like a trapdoor but it's a fucking room. should be able to switch the room that is attached to the door regardless of whether he's inside or outside of the room but if he's inside the room and it switches so the other room is the one connected to the door obviously there should not be any way to get out from the room that is now the trapdoor'd room.

I'm not apologizing to myself

Lucifel’s room is made up of a series of sliding walls and floor panels that allow for the room to be changed out entirely with the press of a button. The trigger for the transformation is located on the room owner’s phone, and when activated the floor of the back three fourths of the room (and everything on it) slide backwards and into the now raised back wall. This reveals another floor which then raises up to the normal level. The walls then slide and lock to cover the contents of the old room, block door into the room and, coincidentally, the entryway to the secret room in the closet.

The room itself appears to be by default an exact replica of the original room, and any upgrades that apply to all sensitIV rooms also apply to the new room. Hitting the trigger again reverses the process, allowing the room to be exited. The entire process (and any noise from inside the room in general) is silent, owing to the soundproofing of the walls and mechanisms.

Pink wants:
- Default setting is to block any off-unit power-use inside the dorm or used to invade the dorm.
- Peppep powers remain unaffected.
- Any Peppep can selectively give full powers permission to their off-unit visitors when they come by though if they want to turn off the block completely for everyone it needs to be agreed on by all peps present. (Maybe permissions can be given by writing/stamping a 'hall' pass?? The visitor doesn't need to be holding the pass.)

OOC Caveats:
- It doesn't effect powers that were used on anyone outside the dorm.
- So as not to nerf BiT's dreamwalking power completely, maybe the block can only apply to a limited number of rooms at a time, but which ones it applies to can be switched? Pink mostly wants it for himself but covering a common space where visitors may actually hang out also makes more sense...

EDIT: since this request still hasn't been answered yet and we now have some people who are afraid of trees/plants due to Betrayal 2.0 trauma, I'd like to update this request a little? While discussing this on Mel's plurk it was mentioned that HSS has a retrofuture aesthetic due to sentai, and the suggestion was brought up to make it more like a "space forest" so I was thinking... something like Pandora forest? maybe with less gravity?

Adjacent to the Anti-Grav room is a hydroponics dome, containing an alien forest. The same views as in the anti-grav room can be seen here, provided one can reach a spot where they're able to actually see the "sky" through the towering hybrids of fungus and tree that cover the entire area. Like the anti-grav room, the gravity here is weak but adjustable. Trails crisscross through the entire dome, and the terrain varies from gentle to rough, rocky, and rugged for maximum trudging across an alien world experience. Light in the dome is provided entirely by the bioluminescence of the plantlife, as well as the small floating and blinking wisps which might either be fireflies or sentient fungal spores. Who can say? In many areas of the forest, a thick fog settles near the ground and obscures vision forward - watch your step!

A hallway connects D.Va's workshop to the dorm's training room, sparse with a sand-coated floor, with space seen beyond the clear walls— until she steps into it. Upon stepping foot inside, it changes to the shore of a deserted island, the "sky" above alighting blue and sound being piped in from hidden speakers in the floor to imitate the sound of the waves. Mist and water hydraulics pipe water in and out to imitate the sea, and a durasteel shack stands on the island's sands. The beach but itself is fairly sparse, most the room taken up by a king-sized bed in HSS's style, though not all of it— there's also room for a shower cubicle for washing off the sand, with a self-replenshing towel rock hung on the outside of its door— it 3D-prints new ones once the old ones are used, with a hamper besides it that breaks down the old towels to cotton fibres to build new ones from.

The door to AlcheME!’s sewing room is located just before the moat. The room itself features one entire wall taken up by crystalline cubby holes which either contain catalogues of sewing patterns or provide space and shelving for in progress and completed works. Opposite that wall is more shelving as well as racks for hanging bolts of cloth. The room opens up in the back to provide space for the cluster of adjustable mannequins and additional storage for threads and cloth (which seem to replenish in random colours), as well as storage bins for scraps. A large stone slab drafting table sits in the exact center of the work floor, with sketchbooks piled in one corner. Off to the side is a workbench which has a...glowing, shifting mass of crystals which seems vaguely old-fashioned sewing machine shaped. Like every other crystal abomination in the dorm, it operates perfectly as if it really is what it almost looks like it is - in fact, it has all the functions you’d expect from a modern sewing machine. Next to the bench are several display boards, and another small end table containing drawers with scissors, measuring tape, and other tailor's instruments to be hung on a rack above the sewing machine. The room’s lighting is provided by two crystal chandeliers, whose height and light level can be adjusted.

A room with tall tall walls to paint on and plenty of storage holding all sorts of pencils, markers, paints, spray paints, etc. Well ventilated so Alcheme doesn't get high on paint fumes. Throw in some adjustable tables to work at because only L will be climbing the walls like a maniac with her hair. A sink to wash off supplies and also ourselves.

Next to the sewing room is a crystal barrier which retracts to allow entry to another room, this one drawing and painting. The chandelier lighting in this room is also adjustable both in intensity, colour, and height, but it also can be moved across the ceiling simply by thinking about doing so.

Reflective mirrored cabinets stack up against one and contain all manner of arts (and crafts!) supplies, such as brushes, ink, oil colors, acrylics, watercolors, canvases, scissors, paper, etc.

There are a pair of workbenches with space to do whatever you need, as well as easels and stools. The walls are completely smooth - aside from the cabinets - empty providing plenty of space for showing off your work.

pep!pep’s main room connects to a clean, sterile school nurse’s office, which also connects to pep!pep!'s landing for people to access without entering the unit's living quarters. Against one wall are two wheeled raisable hospital cots with a pair of IV racks, and above them are hanging curtains. Next to the beds are a couple of stools. The office includes a counter with a stack of clipboards, paper, and a pair of glasses for efficient note-taking, and above the counter is a set of plain cabinets with bandages, splints, disinfectant, blood pressure monitors, and stethoscopes.

In the corner is a scale and height measure, situated maybe a bit uncomfortably next to an anatomical skeleton on a stand. Next to the skeleton is a stainless steel sink with paper towel and soap dispensers, as well as a hazardous materials bin.

Along all the walls are informational medical diagrams warning about common diseases and conditions, as well as providing helpful nutritional tips! Remember, an apple a day keeps the hell doctor away!

Man☆Eater’s room contains sliding wall that is activated by pulling down a lever disguised as the head of one of the wall gargoyles in the room. This wall opens to reveal a sound-proofed room which is lined entirely with bookshelves and tall dressers, in the same style as the rest of the dorm. Like the others they also by default display random trinkets and occult objects and skulls, but still have plenty of room for stuff you’d actually put on a bookshelf.

In the center is an ornate granite-topped work desk, along with a much more comfortable darkened wood chair.

The unit dorm is decorated in pseudo-Medieval style, with stone walls and floors, and tapestries in gold and white hanging from the ceiling. The table is a long banquet table, and all the chairs are ornate wooden chairs. The TV looks like a big tapestry of knights engaged in battle when not being used.


Appended to the dorm is a half-covered outdoor area, with banners fluttering in the breeze and a rustic hewn stone floor pairing the patio to the same aesthetic that the dormitory indoors have. Patio lounge chairs and gliders are made of wrought-iron, with tapestry fabric cushions to relax comfortably on top. There's a portable antique bronze firepit that can be used during the colder months or at night, or put away if they want. From the stone archways, they get an excellent view— perks of living on the second highest floor.

All avante rooms contain a fireplace, beds large enough for at least three people, and an open alcove with a personal bath, sink, and drainage.

The west wall of Heliotrope's room has been painted to portray a house in the middle of a forest, the house itself no more than four feet in height. It seems as though it's just a painting, but the knob on the door is real, copper and weathered as though by time; pull the knob and you'll open the house-shaped door to the adjoining room - unless you're a child you'll certainly have to stoop low to get in - that seems to be a child's secret playroom. At least, one can only imagine it's for a smaller person, what with the low ceiling, and one can only imagine it's for a child, what with the interior decor looking more like a giant dollhouse than anything. The walls are, themselves, blocky shelves that outline the interior of the "house" - on one side is the kitchen and the dining room and the bathroom with the removable plastic tub and the attic with a spiralling staircase that descends past the library, the study, the room with the old clock that's separate from the room with the fireplace for, well, who knows what reason? Blue skies paint the very top of the walls, outlining the house, with even a dark curtain to pull down and pretend it's night.

Across the room, the other wall mirrors the general shape of the playhouse, but not the blocks; instead, they are rows and rows of shelves for rows and rows of beds, with miniature lights to mimic nightlights attached - here would be where the guests and the family sleeps, of course!

Finally, the back wall is a display case, glass with ivory climbing the frame and weathered copper knobs to open and close and rearrange the toys as one might see fit, once they're finished playing. Sitting in the display case is the family - several plush bears of varying sizes: Mother, Father, Sister, Brother, Baby. All of them look worn, as though they'd been loved for a long time.

When Heliotrope enters the room for the first time, he'll see a small sign held by Sister, written by a child's clumsy hand: Welcome back.

A door in the living room adjacent to the one leading to the clinic leads out into an outdoor(?) area suspended in perpetual twilight, sickly pink moonbeams lighting the grounds to reveal a few natural springs, some of which appear to be filled with blood and some which don’t. Strangely, the bloody ones aren’t always blood - they randomly shift between normal water, blood-tinted water, and actual blood, so be careful!

There are skimmers available to clean up the pools if necessary - they seem to keep themselves mostly clear of the sakura petals that tend to fall in them, but a few don’t seem to self-clean in any way. And speaking of the sakura trees - well, did you know? There's bodies buried beneath the cherry trees! You’ve got to believe me!

And besides! Look at the greedy roots of the trees, tangled like an octopus, as they happily absorb the blood that permeates the ground beneath them. And if not, if not, then why would there be so many adorable little two-tailed cats which move like shadows, so close to the ground and barely perceptible as they glide back and forth? These creatures of smoke and char, which fill the air with the natural scent of a volcanic mountainside - are they not here to claim the dead?

Well, at any rate, the baths are very warm and comfortable, and there’s even a small constantly-steam filled alcove to sweat out your ills in! Have fun!

Details: A bedroom upgrade for Levi! Personally, he would like for his room to be sound proofed and wants large windows. To make it creepy cute, maybe something like this? for the windows...?

He wants a 'natural look' which is what he would ask for-- but as for what he gets, maybe something more akin to creepy nature? Like a sakura tree or more will-o-the-wisps type lights like within the gardens. Plants within strange pastel like colors...? He wants a LARGE LARGE bed with comfortable pillows...!! He likes things soft.... please give him like a floating bed in a birdcage that he has to climb up to.
Examples/Ideas: here, here, here and finally this. He'll complain but at least the bed will be soft and he'll like that. Just give him a creepy fairy forest bedroom theme with a permanent foggy haze.

He'd really like to request a bit of expanded storage and room as well as a small indoor lagoon/mini soak pool or something due to his new dragon features. Just something small. He wants to soak in water more now that his scales dry out easily, so nice and easy water access! He just requests no blood...in his pool. Whatever weirdness or spookiness that goes along with it is fine though.

Comfy places to relax in the room and lastly give him a dumb little pet bed for his dragon form. I know.

Actually double lastly since I don't know if this is possible but he should totally get a pastel-colored Audrey like in the little shop of horrors. It also requires blood. Luckily sensitIV has lots of that...

Sorry for the wait! How does it look?

Upon entry to Leviathan’s room, one will find that it what seems like a wooden walkway centered around a singular large sakura tree - and that tree, did you know? Well - at this point it ought to speak for itself. Especially given the brightly glowing pastel pink orbs of almost flame-like light - perhaps fairies or foxfire or the souls of the lost - which dance about the room, providing lighting beyond what already exists in the room. At the far end of the room is a short staircase which leads to a raised alcove. Quite a few feet above the platform hangs a large bed covered in a way that makes it look akin to a lantern or birdcage, sheets draped down its inner sides. A variety of pillows in different shapes and sizes take up a large portion of the bed’s surface.

The room is enlarged to accommodate these features, as well as a small shallow foot pool at the base of the stairs, placed exactly where one might otherwise slip off their slippers for the night. The water glows softly with moonlight that doesn’t seem to be coming from anywhere. It’s possible it’s from the windows that give a clear view of Tokyo-F, but it’s hard to tell since the light filters tinted red through the strangely crimson cherry trees outside. (note: there are no cherry trees outside. Actually, those look a bit like fingerprints…?)

For some reason, in one corner of the room there is a large bulbed venus flytrap which has a “mouth” seemingly twisted into a menacing grin, complete with jagged fangs. For some other reason, a majority of the lights seem to congregate here. The plant itself seems to enjoy blood, and without it looks pale and withered. Unfortunately, the blood does have to be human. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be yours! For some reason, proximity to the plant causes feelings of something approaching guilt - well, it’s more like you’re fairly certain that someone’s caught on to your crimes and you’re just going to have to feed them to the plant. The feeling fades fairly quickly. Across from that is a fluffy mouth-shaped pet bed, complete with fluffy tongue.

The wisps “turn off” when the door of the bed-cage is closed or the pet bed is occupied, and the entire room is soundproofed.

Details: She would like a luxurious bedroom upgrade with features! A much larger bed, preferably fourposter with curtains and lots of pillows! Screens around the room for separation and changing, a fainting couch, and a small table and cushions beneath for people who wish to visit within her room. An actual desk would be nice too, however. In addition, she'd like a large soaking tub to relax in and enjoy in private. Windows and a window nook in general (but with the ability to block out light as needed) + Soundproofed. She'd like some greenery, an expanded closet, and more storage.

Lastly, a small, hidden compartment within her room that only opens for her... so that she can hide various embarrassing things. Anything else or the specifics, feel free to expand on!

Kaguya's room contains a king sized bed, laden with plenty of buckwheat and bamboo pillows. Several screens with art depicting the sun and moon partition the room, one of which contains the bed and another of which is the "main" section. Here, there's a table with mats and cushions to sit on for visitors, as well as a long, comfortable couch. In the corner is a diagonal desk, complete with drawers. Another partition contains a large maple barrel tub, with a spigot that always produces Perfectly Steaming Water.

Each partition has one tall, narrow window which provide most of the room's light - the rest comes from paper lanterns strung across the ceiling. The exception is the main room which instead has a cushioned trifold alcove with a window that spans the entire indent. The windows all have curtains that can be drawn via string. Shelves and cabinets in the bed area provide extra storage, and the closet is quite a bit larger than normal. Potted azaleas and bonzai redwoods adorn most surfaces, and the whole room is soundproofed.

There are freshly restocked linens whenever the old ones become too dirty, as well as a small alcove with a casino hotel-styled sink with counter, one person shower, and mirror. They each also contain one writing desk.

Paloma's room contains an indoor waterfall that pours out of one wall and into a small hot tub placed against that wall.

Down the BARiTONES hallway is a private office with a desk and chair similar to the ones found in each dorm against a side wall. Atop the desk is a piano desk lamp, and flanking it are a wallful of filing cabinets which can be locked and unlocked either by key or phone.

The room also contains a large, l-shaped lounge couch, which sits just slightly off to the side next to a BARiTONES red-shaded lamp that provides the room with its almost-too-dim lighting. A corkboard adorns the wall opposite the desk, and comes complete with a roll of string, for some reason? The far wall contains a mantel, over which a gold-framed portrait of Emperor Eichi Tenshouin hangs.

The entire room is soundproofed.

Accessible from Mars' bedroom is a well ventilated smoking lounge, PVC air ducts connected to an air purifier and filter constantly pumping any pollution out. The room is very dimly (or relaxingly, depending on your perspective!) lit - a HSS-style couch and a single ufotable with a self-cleaning ash-tray being the only furnishings available. The floor is carpeted and checkered, though it's impossible to tell what colour it is on account of the mood lighting that tints everything a garish and almost grating but very hip magenta. Monitors behind a granite-topped café counter with literally nothing in or on it display Mars' room, which is assuredly a very useful feature. The hanging lamps in the room do not have adjustable brightness, but the flexible steel cords they're attached to can be bent into any given position to direct the light, if anyone ever feels the urge to point all the lamps away from themselves or to interrogate someone while relaxing in style.

Through a door behind BARiTONES' bar is the keg room, which is actually fairly spacious - this is because it doubles as a training room, as evidenced by the drab concrete floor being covered entirely in claret red wrestling mats. A decently sized arena is demarcated by a square of stacked stainless steel kegs, and in its center sits a movable stand with a punching bag. Kegs that (theoretically) supply the bar are lined and hooked up to pumps located on the same wall as the entrance, and opposite those is a two-tier rack containing medicine balls and weights. Almost the entire room is dull grey concrete, with the exception of one wall which appears to actually just be a giant scratch mat, embroidered with the words "FOR THE PRINCESS" in claret red. Beneath the single pair of (occasionally flickering) fluorescent lights hanging from the ceiling is a row of black leather benches for further exercise.

Through an open doorway in the living room is LiliS’ kitchen, its polished wood-panelled floor vibrantly lit with hanging cottage lanterns. A a countertop and set of cabinets and drawers sit along the far wall, wood engraved with images of various woodland creatures frolicking about. A brick rocket stove oven fills the corner where the counter ends, just next to a microwave, coffee maker, and wall-set cutting board.

To the right of the entrance is set of doors that open up into a shallow larder, just large enough for someone to stand there and stock or remove items from the shelves.

Details: Yvette's secret indoor/outdoor bathroom is perfect for a young lady who refuses to be caught looking less than on point by anybody, including her own unit. The bathroom is accessible through a concealed door. The walls are a lush claret red, flocked with velvet in a floral pattern. A hanging chandelier and frosted glass sconces mounted on the walls keep the room just as dim as the common area, however, the vanity mirror is backlit, and can be brightened enough to apply makeup. The sink cabinetry is the same dark wood that you'll find throughout the BARiTONES dorm, topped with a dark marble counter with an inlaid copper sink and faucet fixtures.

Checkerboard tile flooring flows throughout the space, and past the sink and toilet area is a glass-walled shower, with a ceiling-mounted rain shower head as well as a hand held one. The shower space leads to the open-air side, where a copper claw-foot gin tub full of hot spring water awaits, granting anyone who takes a soak a view of the sky.

If plants are used in the description, then dried/dead/fake or carnivorous ones would be slightly preferable for the sake of personal aesthetic, but not necessary.

If possible, it would be nice if it could include any of the following in any combination:
-Soundproofing from the rest of the dorm (so conversations can be held with the voices in one's head without disturbing the whole unit)
-A table (or at least open floor space) the right size for playing card & board games on it
-At least one couch or bench
-TV screen(s) (they can be like the forest window/tv screen fusion in the main room or not, whatever)

In the mess of cleyera shrubs is a line of mushrooms that you could easily miss if you didn't know what you were looking for; they go on for only a brief while before disappearing, though if you were to duck your head you could find a small hole in the shrubbery to crawl through - as well as the next mushroom, and the next and the next, lining a short passageway to a secret room.

As the mushrooms progress, you can see the cleyera plants beginning to look varying shades of ill and dying - no amount of care changes their state - and, at the end of the passage that opens up to a clearing with the same sky as the garden's and cleyera shrubbery reaching so high they would surely meet the garden wall, the plants are all but dead, leaves and flowers dry like the life was sucked out of them.

Perhaps the pitcher plants are to blame: a spread of carnivorous flowers bloom around the cleyeras, lining the circumference of the room and looking robust despite even the grass looking withered. Careful not to lose your lunch here before you get to the picnic table at the center of the room - despite being classified as carnivorous, these plants seem to be more on the omnivorous side!

Besides the fairly simple wooden picnic table-bench set, there's one other bench to the side, sitting a little ways away from the retro television box with antennae and dials - there's only one channel for whatever Lives might be going on, the rest being complete static. The television sits on a crumbling wooden ottoman, one that's slowly but surely being crushed by the vines of the nearest plant.

Despite the open floor no ceiling plan, sound doesn't seem to travel beyond the first mushroom in the passageway back - as though the shrubbery is enough to block the sound from travelling to the rest of the garden.

Jay's room has been expanded to look something like an abandoned warehouse: the ceiling is high up, supported by multiple beams, and the hanging lights are are bright white, difficult to look directly at but fantastic lighting; there are also boxed lights that cut into the ceiling, dimmer if you want normal room lighting - like a warehouse there are a number of switches for Jay to control which sections of his room have what lights on - and the floor is made of cement with a smooth wax coating.

Piping lines the base of the walls, leading to the back where the floor indents to create a circular pit - cinderblocks have been stacked to form a makeshift stairwell and the very wall next to the stairwell is carved out to create shelves for books that one could find in the library - and here, a gas fireplace takes up the corner, blankets and mattresses pressed across from the fireplace to provide some softer seating closer to the warmth. The piping funnels heat from the fire throughout the room, keeping the floor pleasantly warm for the colder days.

The walls are bare, grunge cement for him to paint over.
