Fugitive "Graduation" & Life After Imeeji

Please note: This good end option is related to imeeji's plot, and IC spoilers thus follow.

So you're interested in the fugitive end! How does it work?

How does it work? back to top

Life in Hell exists on two things: raw power and belief. Those without either cannot maintain in Hell, and fade away into nothingness with no tether to the realm. Now, traditionally only demons can have sufficient power to exist on their own—and the stronger the demon, the higher ranked they are, with Lucifer and the Hell Princes at the very top. Each demon underneath the Princes swear their allegiance to one of the nine, and are granted a tether to the realm as a result. Loyal or not, they are bound to their Prince, until they break their oath to ally with another Prince.

Beyond raw power, life persists on belief: all existences in Hell, demons and Damned alike, maintain their independent identities through their presence in the cultural consciousness, whether local or widespread—in other words, belief is measured by how much a person is thought of, held in high regard, and idolized. Older, more prominent demons have this easy—their legacies have ossified into Hell's culture as myths and legends, and as long as those persist, so too, do their lives. The younger or lesser-known the demon is, the less good they have it, though none are more unfortunate than the Damned who, without power or belief, fade into the amalgamation of consciousness, the Sea of the Damned, before eventually disappearing.

Idols are quite similar to the Damned in this regard: they hold no power and little belief, quite literally relying on their fandoms to stay alive. Even then, their cut of the existential energy is small—the Production takes the lion's share of that energy, leaving just enough for idols to still be comfortably alive but not much more than that. And, as many idols have learned, if they don't keep their image up, they'll begin to fade—the margins the Production leaves for them is razor-thin.

Due to certain developments and collusions by Hell Graduates, the method by which the Production takes belief has been tampered with, and while it's being repaired, something quite interesting has occurred: the overflowing belief is being directed toward the idols of Tokyo-F, directly powering them instead of going through the Production as the middle man. It's led to a few strange results—fast food establishments physically manifesting out of nowhere, people coming back from the dead, living furbies coming out of people's skins . . .

And, when the conditions are right—when the idol has accumulated enough power and a connection to their audience, the idol can manifest themself out of the cage that is Tokyo-F and directly into Hell itself. Ordinarily, this would lead to their lives burning out as quick as a wick, but with their fans directly funding their Beliefs Patreon, they can sustain their lives as independent, fugitive idols.

How does it happen? back to top

Currently, characters originally apped between 05/2018 and 12/2021 qualify for Fugitive "Graduation". They do not have to be in the game currently. Please note that this a plot drop: we prefer a limited number of fugitive graduates, and will prioritize those with specific ongoing plots, such as a plotline with an NPC.

Fugitive idols may be graduated as single characters or as duos/groups. When the idol(s) is ready to leave—that is to say, when the player(s) is ready to graduate the character(s)—the idol(s) will begin to hear voices in the distance asking for their true name (or: their new idol name). Once the question is answered, a new, direct connection will be made between the idol(s) and the fans, and the idol(s) will disappear from their current location in Tokyo-F, manifesting at the summoning circle created by their fandom.

(Most summoning circles are engineered by colluding Hell Graduates or lackeys who work for Hell Graduates, but they may be independently created by fandoms.)

Due to the more secretive nature of this graduation, there is no graduation party or official announcement, though idols may refrain from announcing their true name when . Idols who take this good end cannot have any wishes fulfilled, nor can they return to their world if their world is Heaven-aligned.

What happens after that? back to top

Fugitive idols are no longer able to rely on the Production for the security of their existence. Any injuries they acquire will have to be repaired by taking on more corruption, and dying will alert Lilith of their location. Additionally, should they ever lose their fandom, the idols will disappear.

However, they are additionally not tied to any Hell, nor have they given their souls away to any Prince. The nature of their existences are closer to demonic than not, but they still have their own souls and retain their human/non-demonic nature—with a great enough fanbase and with enough power accumulated, they can become existences similar to Lilith.

Naturally, the Production isn't pleased when their intellectual properties have escaped Tokyo-F. Idols who good end through this option are, therefore, wanted criminals in Liar and Vengeance Hells. They cannot create legitimate business or hold any property in Hell, and they cannot stay in one place for long—the Production has plenty of people looking for them.

Still, if they're vigilant, there are plenty of places to hide and plenty of people who are willing to help them: their Damned fandom might not have lodging, but they are happy to provide existential energy via belief . . . provided that the idol in question is willing to give them fanservice on the regular.

There are a number of Hell Graduates with safe houses, willing to provide temporary lodging to the stray fugitive—though they can't stay too long, else the Hell Graduate in question be under suspicion. Still, a safe space is a safe space.

The following are those who can provide temporary sanctuary:
  • Kurosu Jun / Nya formerly of sensitIV
  • Ascensuri Cataracta & Lumen Sufficiens / Cobalt formerly of pep!pep! and Thorn formerly of BAD END=DEAD END
  • Wataru Hibiki / Wataru formerly of ☆ZRAEL
  • Kaiba Seto / Intensity formerly of future is now

Fugitive idols can also temporarily escape to Hell-aligned worlds, though only up to 3 IC days at a time before the Hell police are hot on their trail. They cannot visit Heaven-aligned worlds.

There is (currently) no avenue for fugitive idols to freely visit Tokyo-F.
