Thorn's bedroom becomes an exposed-brick industrial rehab-style studio. The windows set into one wall recall old factory-style architecture, opening as a row outward and topped by an arch, and in front of them is a wide, sturdy metal chest that's had rich teal cushions stacked on top of it to make a cozy reading nook. Both the bedframe and nightstand are made from reclaimed, artfully-tarnished pipe, the nightstand with wire baskets on rails to hold trinkets and sundries. The opposite wall is lined with black steel wire shelves, one packed with books and the other with room to add more—although all the books are things like copies of The Anarchist's Cookbook, Steal This Book, Lockpicking for Dummies, and so on. The room is also lockable by phone, and soundproof.
